Faculty of Communication

Radio, Television and Cinema

Message from the Head of Department

In the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, we nurture the artists, academics, and media professionals of the future. Critical thinking, creativity, and originality are our key concepts. We prepare our students for life not only through their personal and professional development but also with extracurricular activities such as seminars, media visits, internships, and projects. In addition to the support of competent faculty members, our education program is designed to integrate theory and practice with contributions from media professionals who teach in our department and collaborations with professional organizations. Our aim is to educate students who reflect their aesthetic understanding and perspective in their works and, most importantly, possess professional ethics.

Understanding the nature of mass communication tools, which have various functions from cultural transmission to news reporting, from entertaining to forming public opinion, and evaluating this structure with a critical perspective are among the important competencies and skills our students will acquire. Through compulsory and elective courses entirely in English over four years, our students chart their paths, grow, and transform; they produce short and medium-length films, documentaries, TV programs, video art projects, commercials, and screenplays that bear their unique signatures.
