Visual Communication Design

About the Department

Our department, which encourages our students to use their creativity actively by developing their analytical skills and visual language; aims to train designers who will work at the intersection of art, design and mass culture, with a high sense of social responsibility and questioning. In addition to the cultural studies they carry out in the field of social sciences, our students, who have the opportunity to practice in a wide range, enrich their conceptual, critical and organizational skills by developing their designer/artist roles. Our students, who have the chance to practice in the fields of advertising, design, digital content production and creative art, benefit from the studio, city, society, economy and industry, which are tools to improve themselves while meeting sectoral demands with their work.

Mission
The mission of the Visual Communication Design Department is to train designers with a high sense of social responsibility and questioning, who will use their creativity actively by developing their analytical skills and visual language, who will work at the intersection of art, design and mass culture. To raise individuals who are unique, contemporary, able to express themselves, research and think, who closely follow scientific, artistic and technological developments throughout their lives, who can reflect this knowledge and experience to their lives.

Vision
To be a preferred education unit that carries out theoretical and applied academic studies with interdisciplinary education programs by taking the innovations in design into its system. To be an innovative and contemporary educational institution that aims to train contemporary, pioneering and creative visual communication designers of the future by teaching traditional and computer-aided design methods.
