Message from the Head of Department

Visual Communication Design brings visual forms to messages for the purposes of informing and persuading as a part of communication. Visual communication designers transform these messages into powerful visual designs that resonate with the audience.

From logos to book covers; from packaging design to advertising campaigns; from websites to mobile interface design, from posters to billboards; From kiosks to building facades, visual communication designers are responsible for designing the messages we see and read every day. 

As a result of the developing communication technologies and the increasing needs of the age, visual communication design is gaining more and more importance. In this direction, the visual dimension of communication comes to the fore day by day. In this period when visuality and visual messages are in demand, professionals who will be trained in this field are needed.

In the Visual Communication Design department, the theoretical and applied knowledge required to give visual forms to messages and ideas and to shape the user experience in printed materials, screens or virtual space is given. Design education is given in different fields such as typography, publication design, digital applications, motion graphics, and students are provided to discover their own areas of interest and expertise. The curriculum of the department is formed by structuring theoretical and applied courses in a complementary way. Elective courses make it possible for students to study depending on their special interests.

Visual Communication Design graduates can choose their careers with different titles such as graphic designer, advertising and publishing director, publication designer, interaction designer. Graduates have job opportunities in all departments of the media sector related to visual communication. He can work as a designer in many different areas such as advertising agencies, publishing industry, corporate communication units of the public and private sectors.
