Prof. Dr. Nezih Erdoğan Speaks at Aoyama Gakuin University

On April 7, 2025, Prof. Dr. Nezih Erdoğan, Chair of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, delivered a talk at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, Japan. The event also featured a screening of the video work titled “Istanbul: Do Redo Undo: Waters, Streets, Faces.”

The program offered a rich platform for academic and artistic reflection on the memory, representation, and transformation of Istanbul. In his talk, Prof. Dr. Erdoğan explored the cinematic and cultural representations of the city, highlighting the interplay between its historical layers and their mediated expressions. Following the screening, a Q&A session provided an opportunity for an in-depth discussion with participants on themes such as urban memory, visual narrative, and re-representation.
