Esra Bayhantopçu completed joint international PhD study program and graduated from Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University, Political Science Department and Galatasaray University, Media and Communication Studies Department in 2017. While she was doing her PhD research at Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University, she stayed at Paris between 2014-2016 with the support of Tübitak International PhD Fellowship Program and wrote her doctoral thesis on the subject of ‘marriage of underage girls problem in Turkey and its media discourse analysis on Turkish print and social media’. In the spring semester of 2018, she gave lectures at Bahçeşehir University Master Programme as a visiting lecturer. Esra Bayhantopçu completed her master degree in Galatasaray University, Marketing Communication Department in 2010 and her bachelor’s degree in Dokuz Eylül University, Management Department in 2004. Aside from her academic life, she has been working in professional business life since 2005. During her academic studies, she also has been working as a consultant in the field of Corporate Sustainability since 2010. She is among the first sustainability consultants of Türkiye in this field and provides consultancy to leading national and international companies about on Corporate Sustainability strategy, process Management and reporting. Dr. Bayhantopçu, who has been a faculty member at Istinye University since 2018, conducted her postdoctoral research in Spain in 2022-2023 on equality and sustainability practices in universities. Esra Bayhantopçu conducts academic researches in the fields of sustainability, equality, media analysis and communication, gender, and has articles and book chapters in these fields.
