Message from the Head of Department

Communication is more important than ever in our today's rapidly developing and changing world. Today, the most important pillar of business strategies of the communication-oriented world is Public Relations and Advertising. Individuals who are familiar with communication strategies and methods, who can use communication technologies effectively and have abilities to manage communication activities are among the most preferred experts of today. Therefore, as the Public Relations and Advertising Department of Istinye University, our mission is to educate public relations and advertising experts who can easily adapt to our rapidly changing and developing communication world, can analyze and manage communication tools effectively, can create solutions for the needs of the society, act with social responsibility and ethical approach, and those who have adopted the principle of lifelong learning.

As Istinye University, a university with a dynamic and innovative education system, our aim not only to provide students with theoretical knowledge, but also to give them a chance to gain practical skills in the field. Our educational curriculum, which is developed in accordance with the international standards in the field, is designed so that the students gain an ability to develop different perspectives, make critical inquiries, think strategically and express their thoughts effectively with a consideration for ethical principles. The curriculum provides both theoretical and practical knowledge and offers an interdisciplinary education by linking the discipline of communication with other related disciplines in order to help the students to master their knowledge. Starting from the 4th semester, students have an opportunity to focus on the area in which they want to specialize by taking elective courses. At this point, they also have an opportunity to engage with the academic staff and get mentor support. In addition, our students are encouraged to develop their practical skills through workshops and projects and do internships to experience the actual business life.

We would like to see in our department those who have an interest in the field of Public Relations and Advertising, those who want to be one of the communication professionals of the future and those who wish to create value for the society…
